Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt have expressed an interest in Manchester United full-back Guillermo Varela, reports German publication Kicker.

The 22-year-old, who broke through into the United first team last season, has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford since the arrival of Jose Mourinho.

Frankfurt have reportedly made an initial offer for a loan deal, with a view to a permanent deal next summer.

The Uruguay international made seven appearances for United under former manager Louis van Gaal last season.
