Egypt national team goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary has rated England's Wayne Rooney as one of the best strikers in the world.

As the teams prepare to clash in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium tonight, the veteran shot-stopper believes the Manchester United marksman has received praise from the man who will have to deal with his brilliant recent form.

"Rooney is one of the best forwards in the world, if not the best," he told Mirror Football. "He dominates games and is definitely up there with the top five.

"He has all the attributes and England now have Rooney, Crouch, Heskey, Lampard, Gerrard who are all special players, are great going forward and can score goals."
