Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs completely dominated proceedings at White Hart Lane to force their way into the fourth round of the league cup with a 5-0 victory.
There were goals aplenty in the second half in North London but not before there were chances galore in the opening 45 minutes with only Christian Eriksen making the most of his side's dominance.
The Denmark international, who was skippering Spurs tonight, opened his scoring account for the season in the 31st minute when picking the ball up and firing beyond Stuart Nelson with a lovely 25-yard effort.
The home side quickly kicked into gear after conjuring 17 attempts on goal in the first half and were soon enough leading by two goals when Eriksen added a second three minutes in the cheekily poking home a pass from Erik Lamela.
On 51 minutes, Kieran Trippier was brought down in the area allowing summer signing Vincent Janssen to step up to the spot, sending Nelson the wrong way and finally getting his first Spurs goal.
It was a night for firsts as in the 65th minute, Josh Onomah produced a lovely finish from a Lamela pass for his first senior goal for Spurs, making it 4-0.
And it was all wrapped up on 68 minutes when Lamela deservedly got in on the act when firing home Janssen's lay-off into the bottom corner.
The victory sees Spurs move into the fourth round where they will take on Liverpool at Anfield on the week commencing October 24.
