Former Nigeria international Efan Ekoku is unimpressed by Wilfried Bony's move to Manchester City.
The former Swansea City striker signed for the champions in a £30 million deal yesterday.
But former Wimbledon star Ekoko told the London Evening Standard: "If I'm being honest I'm disappointed because he's not going to get the game time that I think he deserves.
"The qualities that he's shown over the last two seasons in the Premier League deserve a regular place. Wilfried Bony will find that he's probably spending a lot more time on the bench than he would like to.
"All of a sudden you can just lose a bit of fitness a little bit of form and you try desperately hard to impress a lot and stop doing the things that come naturally."
Asked if Liverpool would have suited Bony better, the 47-year-old said: "You'd hope that the player would be smart enough to say 'Okay, Liverpool may not be winning the championship this season but they've got a good chance qualifying for the Champions League.'
"He'd certainly be ahead of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert for example but who knows maybe Liverpool weren't interested."
