Edu: Rangers cautious over claiming domestic treble

Maurice Edu insists Rangers' pursuit of a possible domestic treble will be taken one step at a time. The Ibrox side moved closer towards the feat with their remarkable Co-operative Insurance Cup final win over St Mirren at Hampden Park on Sunday.

Walter Smith's players, though, had to cut celebrations short to prepare for their Active Nation Scottish Cup quarter-final replay against Dundee United at Tannadice on Wednesday night.

However, the 23 year old is looking no further than the cup game at Tayside.

"My mind is just on Dundee United on Wednesday," he said.

"That's the next step for us and we would all be foolish to look too far ahead.

"We were up 3-1 in the first game at home and they found a way to get back in to that so we can't take them lightly and look past them.

"The cup final showed the character, resilience and winning mentality that this team has.

"We all want to win, we know how special a season this can be but the next stop in the process is on Wednesday.

"For us it's a matter of winning every game.

"If we can do that then you don't have to worry about what Celtic are doing.

"We just have to focus on our games and if we win them then that's what matters."
