Edu expecting US pair Bocanegra, Bedoya to stay with Rangers

Maurice Edu is of firm belief that his fellow Americans Carlos Bocanegra and Alejandro Bedoya will remain with Rangers next season.

The USA international is aware that the Glasgow giants may need to sell some key players in the summer to deal with their current financial situation but is confident that central defender Bocanegra and midfielder Bedoya will not be departing Ibrox.

"Carlos has been a rock for us. He has to be right up there as one of our players of the season," he told the Daily Record.

"Carlos talked to me before he came but having played in England he knew all about Rangers because they are a massive club.

"It's a real family club and he feels part of it. I would see no reason why he wouldn't be excited to stay.

"Alejandro didn't play as often as he would have liked but I'm sure next season he will take his chance."
