The Brazilian is inside the final 18 months of his current deal and says: "This is fundamental to me because I do not have many years left in football."

Edu is coveted by clubs across Europe, but Betis have been slow to come to the negotiating table, even though majority shareholder Manuel Ruiz de Lopera refuses to consider offers for the popular striker.
