Gareth Edds was on target for Tranmere Rovers as they trounced Grimsby Town 4-0 in the first round of the Carling Cup.
The 28-year Australian old was brought on as a substitute in the 62nd minute when the score was 3-0 and managed to get in on the act by heading home a Chris Shuker corner just ten minutes later.
Paul McLaren, Ian Moore and Craig Curran were all on the scoresheet in the first half as new Rovers boss John Barnes notched up his first victory in charge.
