Australian defender Gareth Edds was shown a red card in Tranmere Rover's 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United in England's League One.

Edds was booked in the 35th minute and then shown a second yellow three minutes from time when his team led 1-0.

A minute after Edds was sent from the pitch, Scunthorpe managed an equaliser.

The point for both teams left them in 6th and 7th on the table with Scunthorpe ahead by two points.

A win would have seen Tranmere leapfrog their opponents into the play-off zone in League One.
