Tranmere Rovers recorded a 2-1 win over Brighton last night, with Gareth Edds on the scoresheet. The 26-year old Australian netted the opening goal, in the 36th minute, with a well-taken shot from an Ian Thomas-Moore pass.
Tranmere then went further ahead 30 minutes later when John Welsh scored, giving Brighton little chance.
The visitors did manage a consolation goal when Glenn Murray converted a 78th minute penalty but the three points went to Tranmere.
The win was a much-needed one for the Rovers who remain in the relegation zone but now are just three points off the teams in the safety region.
