Eddie Gnahore backed for big things at Birmingham

Birmingham City academy chief Terry Westley reckons young Frenchman Eddie Gnahore has a big chance.

Brum beat Manchester City to his signature last year.

Westley told the Birmingham Mail: "He's a talented midfield player.

"He's not really a Vieira because he's not a tackler. He's more a number 10 who can also do a shift in midfield. He's not one of those who just wants to stand up there.

"He's got a change of pace to beat people, and there's not many of them in the game anymore.

"There are a lot of straightforward passers who can make tackles and run up and down the pitch. But this boy is an exciting player.

"He can beat you comfortably, he can go past you. He can make a pass that gets you a goal, he can score a goal.

"He is only a first year, only 17 years of age. He has just been picked for the French under-18 squad, so you have got a player who is one of the best in their country in his age group.

"That tells you the pedigree you're dealing with. You're not talking about the top 50, he's one of their best players."
