Ecuadorian starlet Cristian Ramirez has started training with Tottenham.

The 17-year-old youth international is currently playing for Independiente del Valle. Tottenham enjoy a partnership with the Ecuadorian outfit.

"He went to the British embassy and everything went well," Independiente's sporting director Santiago Morales confirmed, but he insists that a deal has not yet been concluded.

Reports have suggested that Spurs have agreed to pay £1.5million for the player when he turns 18 in August.

"At no time has there been talk of a transfer, it is good for him to acclimatise and get the experience of what a Premier League team is," he said.

"Tottenham have agreed to pay all expenses and his trip will last 10 days."
