Ecuadorian defender Caicedo joins Toronto FC

Toronto FC have secured the services of Ecuadorian defender Geovanny Caicedo.

The 30-year old has joined the Canadian MLS club from LDU Quito and Reds head coach Aron Winter is excited about his impending arrival.

"Caicedo brings great club and international experience to Toronto FC and can compete for a starting position," said Winter.

"He is a player that we have been watching for some time and we felt he would be a good fit at our club and in Major League Soccer."

Caicedo kicked off his career with Huracan in 2000 and has since spent time with Ecuador's Barcelona, Emelec, El Nacional and Deportivo Quito. He has represented the Ecuador national team on eight occasions.
