Chelsea are chasing Ecuador starlet Kevin Mercado.
The People says the Academia Alfaro Moreno defender caught the eye of Chelsea scouts at the U17 South American Championships.
Chelsea are now ready to push for a deal for the yiungster.
Any agreement struck would see Mercado remain on-loan at Academia Alfaro Moreno until he turns 18.
