Ecuador national team doctor Patricio Maldonaldo has revealed Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has suffered a double fracture to his tibia and fibula. The 24 year old was stretchered off the pitch in agony during last night's Champions League stalemate against Rangers.
United did not publicly declare the full extent of the injury but the former Wigan player has since undergone an operation.
Maldonaldo gave further details to Equavisa.com, saying: "It is a double fracture to the tibia and fibula in his left ankle.
"He will be operated on."
