Ecuador striker Jaime Ayovi is in the sights of Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle.
The People says the 21-year-old has netted more than 20 goals for Emelec and is poised to head to the Reebok in January.
Coyle sent a two-man delegation to watch Ayovi in international action last month.
He is a close friend of Manchester United star Antonio Valencia and wants to follow him to the Premier League, with Bolton favourites to clinch the deal in the next fortnight.
Wanderers will have to apply for a work permit for Ayovi but Coyle's money men are sorting out the fee while personal terms should not be a problem.
