The agent of Christian Benitez states that Wigan have yet to get in touch with an offer for his client. The 22-year-old almost joined Dutch outfit Feyenoord last term, but an injury prevented a deal.

French and German clubs have also been linked with Benitez, whose agent Luis Aguerre told El Comercio: "First of all Santos have to receive an offer from Wigan and sign a contract.

"And then, I can intervene to sort a move."
