Ecuador have allowed Antonio Valencia to return to Manchester United from their Copa America campaign.
The 25-year-old received a knock on his ankle during Ecuador's opening match versus Paraguay and he never returned to action during the competition.
"Unfortunately, the injury has not diminished, which does not allow it to be one hundred percent," said Ecuador team doctor Patricio Maldonado.
"Inflammation has dropped a lot, but the point where there was a fracture in his right ankle continues to be painful for him."
