Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish admits he's trying to get a deal for Rubin Kazan striker Obafemi Martins over the line.

Blues are attempting to broker a loan deal for the ex-Newcastle United striker.

Of the prospect of landing former Newcastle forward Martins, McLeish said after their FA Cup victory over Coventry City: "We're trying to get him.

"We're working hard on that but it's not a done deal yet."
