Eck hails Everton's McFadden "swagger"

Scotland boss Alex McLeish is delighted to see Everton attacker James McFadden fit again.

"The last time since I worked with Faddy was when he was one of the young boys at MotherwelI," said McLeish.

"He was just in the Fir Park system then, but he has developed well and has already played everywhere for Scotland - behind the front players, as a lone striker and right and left.

"I remember him playing wide right for Motherwell when he cut inside and scored a great goal against Rangers when I was manager.

"He's a maverick, there's no doubt about that. But I like him because he can make things happen and it's just a matter of fitting him in."

Eck added: "I just like what he can give us. Most of the top teams have someone who can give that little bit extra that is different.

"He has the kind of attitude you associate with some of our great players of the past. A kind of swagger."
