Ecclestone pleased with Liverpool progress

Liverpool management have high hopes for England youth international striker Nathan Ecclestone.

Ecclestone is actually from Manchester, but was snapped up by Liverpool as a 15 year-old: "I'm from Newton Heath in Manchester. It's not far from the City of Manchester Stadium. I signed from Bury FC when I was 15-years-old. I came on a two-day trial and played against Bolton Wanderers. I played at Anfield a week after that and then I signed papers with Liverpool."

He also told liverpoolfc.tv: "My target is probably to push on and get into the reserves and hopefully move to Melwood. If not now, then in the summer. I'll see how it goes from there. You never know, I could even get a chance to play a pre-season game against one of the lower league teams. But I'll just have to wait and see I suppose."
