Eastick praises England players after reaching U19 Euro final

England U19 boss Brian Eastick was delighted after seeing his players win through to the European Championship final with victory over France.

A first half goal from Henri Lansbury and an extra time brace from Nathan Delfouneso were enough to win the game, although it could quite easily have been settled in the initial 90 minutes.

"Semi-finals are all about winning really and we're delighted to be in the final, particularly given our circumstances with the injuries we've had," he said.

"I think France were the better team for the first half an hour and they played very well and we were on the back foot. You have to give them credit for that and they have good players.

"But we started to work a bit harder and press them in the final third of the pitch, which I wanted the team to do.

"We got a bit of momentum from that and the equaliser gave us a lift and in the second half, we created the better chances.

"Unfortunately we didn't convert them but we certainly created more than they did."
