Edin Dzeko is well aware his starting spot at Manchester City is under threat following the summer arrivals of Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic.
The Bosnian put his name forward with City's opening goal in their 3-0 Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday night and was thrilled to have the confidence of manager Manuel Pellegrini.
"It's very important (to have the faith from the boss). I've already said it before the season started," he told Sky Sports 2.
However, Dzeko knows that with such a strong squad, others will also get the opportunity to play ahead of him as the season progresses.
"But I think we have a very good squad with some new players who have brought a lot of quality to our team and of course there are a lot of games until the end of the season. Everyone will get a chance to play," he added.
