Dynamo Kiev are encouraging Arsenal to make an offer for defender Pape Diakhate.
The Daily Mail says the Gunners have long tracked the 6ft 1in centre half but have been put off by the high asking price.
Diakhate spent the first half of the year on loan at Saint-Etienne but the French club have not taken up the option to sign him permanently for £7.25million.
Lille are interested but will pay less than £6m, while Arsenal are still short on options at the back.
