Dyer expected to complete West Ham switch

West Ham United are expected to complete the signing of Newcastle midfielder Kieron Dyer this week, despite negotiations breaking down on Friday.

A deal had been agreed at £5m, rising to £6m if West Ham qualify for Europe, but Toon owner Mike Ashley had different ideas, valuing Dyer at least £8m and so told West Ham to increase their offer.

West Ham, having already agreed a fee, refused to meet the new demand to leave Dyer's in limbo.

Sources close to Dyer last night said that while right now the deal is off, a compromise will be reached, says the Daily Express.
