Former Burnley defender Frank Sinclair believes his old club needs to deepen their squad.

Burnley's season begins on July 26 in the Europa League second qualifying round but Sinclair doesn't think they have the squad to cope with the dual demands just yet.

“Burnley don't have the squad to compete in the league and in Europe, and I think Sean Dyche knows that," he told sportingbet.com.

“Every season you need to improve your squad regardless of where you finish, you cannot afford to stand still in football. You've seen this with the likes of Leicester City winning the league, standing still and nearly getting relegated."
