Burnley manager Sean Dyche was thrilled to complete the signing of Matthew Lowton on Monday.
The Clarets have landed the 26-year old right-back from Aston Villa on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee and Dyche is eager for him to get started as the Lancashire outfit prepare for life in the Championship.
"Even back to his days at Sheffield United, I always thought Matt was a very good player and one who I think is motivated to go again," Dyche told the club's official website.
"He has been at a big club in Aston Villa and wants to get back to the Premier League.
"The challenge for him now is to play regular first-team football and help Burnley to get back there and we look forward to welcoming him into the group."
Lowton's arrival will fill the vacancy left by Kieran Trippier who recently joined Tottenham for £3.5million.
