Dyche rues the different financial world inhabited by Watford and West Ham

Watford boss Sean Dyche simply pointed to the 4-0 home reverse against West Ham as a sign of the gulf in resources between the two Championship outfits. Carlton Cole and Scott Parker, two players expected to move back to the Premier League before the end of the month, were on target to add to first-half goals from James Tomkins and Joey O'Brien as the Hornets were swept aside.

"In parts of the game we played very well, particularly in the first half. We gave away a set-piece goal which, from our point of view, is disappointing," said Dyche.

"The second goal is very disappointing from us. It's a very poor goal, especially at a late stage in the half.

"I read the other day that one of their players earns our total wage bill so that's kind of where it's at and usually if you're going to spend that enormous amount of money you're going to get quality - and the defining moments of the game came due to their quality."
