Dutch ref Bjorn Kuipers has apologised to Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for last year.

The Swede was famously sent off for PSG in their Champions League win at Chelsea in March, 2015.

Kuipers now says he got the decision wrong.

He told NED: "It was my worst game. I was convinced that there was a red. In reviewing the images, it might be red, but a yellow would have been more appropriate.

"After the game, in the locker room, I sat for a moment with Zlatan and we talked about that. I told him that during the game I was convinced of my choice, but I was wrong."
