Dutch FA contact Spurs boss Jol

The Dutch FA could offer Martin Jol an escape route out of Tottenham.

The Daily Mail says amid Jol's battle with Tottenham's board this week, it is understood a senior member of the Dutch FA rang him to ask whether he wants to take over from Marco van Basten as coach of the national team should things go awry at Spurs.

Van Basten is contracted until after Euro 2008, but could go before then as Holland are only third in their qualifying group and he is under severe pressure.
