Dusseldorf's Kruse on verge of Bayer Leverkusen move

Fortuna Dusseldorf attacker Robbie Kruse is reportedly set to sign with Bayer Leverkusen.

The 24-year old Australian is believed to be negotiating the details of a proposed £1.4million shift from the Bundesliga battlers to the Champions League combatants.

A source close to Kruse told SBS: "Robbie has been so impressive this season, there is no way he would not be staying in Bundesliga.

"There have been various clubs keen on him and now an announcement is very close. He has shown what is possible if you have the talent and combine that with hard work and dedication.

"Joining a bigger club is obviously a huge opportunity for him."

Kruse arrived at Dusseldorf from Melbourne Victory in the European summer of 2011 and this season has scored four goals and provided six assists in 27 league starts.
