Duque de Caxias defender Arthur Rocha reveals tragic Man Utd chance

Duque de Caxias defender Arthur Rocha has hopes of making his way to the Premier League one day.

The talented defender now plays in the Brazilian second division, having coming through the junior system at Fluminense with Manchester United's Da Silva twins.

Indeed, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson also wanted Arthur to join Rafael and Fabio in his club's academy, but didn't have a free foreigner's spot for the then teen.

"I was sad," recalled Arthur. "But my mother says God knows what he is doing."

Arthur recalled training with Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

"They are very good people, they always wished me good luck."

Arthur is now on the books of Traffic, which have a close relationship with United, and has had trials at FC Twente.

"I still dream of Europe, to help my family," added Arthur.
