Steven Fletcher and Rob Jones are being urged to concentrate on Hibernian after missing out on deadline-day moves. Scotland international striker Fletcher was wanted by Celtic and Nottingham Forest also made a move for Jones.
"I would like to think the players can put this behind them and not let it affect their performances or attitude," said boss Mixu Paatelainen in the Daily Record.
"They have to realise that by working hard there will be another chance in the future.
"I haven't spoken to Steven yet, but it is important he keeps working hard because he is part of this club. If he has aspirations to move forward in his career he has to knuckle down and focus on producing the goods.
"Rob was in the same situation as Fletcher, but is captain of this club, so he is important to me and has a big role to play here.
"We won't sell until we get what we feel the players are worth.
"We have told clubs we don't have to sell players for anything less than what we value them for which says a lot about how far we have come. In any transfer all parties have to be happy. If one party isn't happy the transfer doesn't happen.
"In the cases involving Fletcher and Jones the transfers weren't great for all parties and that's why the players have stayed with us.
"Now the boys must get their heads down and give everything for me."
