Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne felt they showed great character for their 0-0 draw with Stoke City.

Emile Heskey hit the post in the first half for the visitors and after the break Stoke's Marc Wilson saw his header hit the bar and deflect clear off Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Dunne told Sky Sports 1: "I think we can be proud of ourselves, we worked really hard.

"We were happy with a point, it's a very difficult place to come.

"It's been disappointing (in previous games) to concede a lot at set plays."
