Dunfermline kicked out of Scottish Cup for rule breach

Dunfermline have been thrown out of the Scottish Cup for fielding an ineligible player against Stenhousemuir. Dunfermline ran out 7-1 winners against Stenhousemuir, but Calum Woods, who should have been suspended, featured as a second half substitute.

Dunfermline have confirmed they plan to appeal the sanction feeling they have been harshly dealt with.

As it stands, Stenhousemuir face the prospect of having a money-spinning fifth round tie against Celtic if the Glasgow giants overcome Morton in their rearranged fourth round clash.
