Dunfermline boss McIntyre confirms Fury offer for Wilson

Dunfermline Athletic boss Jim McIntyre has confirmed defender Scott Wilson is weighing up an offer from North Queensland Fury. "He has been made an offer and he is thinking it over," McIntyre told Press Sport. "We've spoken several times about it and the decision rests with him.

"He is a big player for us - he is our captain - but at the end of the day it will be a family decision.

"They will be offering him a three-year contract and also we cannot afford to pay him the contract he is on just now.

"We don't pay that type of money now.

"His contract is up at the end of the season but he has a clause that if he plays so many games it can go for another year.

"I do know what he is going through but it was America for me. I had the chance to sign for Mo Johnston's first team when I was 32.

"But I didn't like the American system and the set-up. It was the league that owned you rather than the club so you could find yourself moved around from year to year. Also the ages of my kids at the time made it unsuitable.

"It's different in Australia. It's a good standard as good players are playing over there and there are only 20-odd games as well."

Whatever Wilson decides, he will be with the Pars until the end of the season.

"He's fully committed and he will not be going anywhere before the season finishes," McIntyre added.
