Dundee Utd swoop for Leicester striker De Vries

Dundee United boss Craig Levein is in talks with Leicester City striker Mark de Vries.

The 32-year-old, who worked under United manger Craig Levein at Hearts and Leicester, has spent two separate loan spells at Leeds this season.

But a troublesome foot injury has limited his first-team appearances at Elland Road.

The Surinam-born striker, who left Hearts in 2004, has also enjoyed spells at Dutch clubs Den Haag and Heerenveen.

De Vries joined Hearts in May 2002 after signing a pre-contract agreement from Dutch Second Division side Dordrecht '90.
