Dundee United boss Peter Houston says a potential deal for Blackburn Rovers defender Gavin Gunning has hit a slight snag.
The Terrors manager is trying to land the 20-year old, who spent of last season on loan with Motherwell, but has revealed that the English club and player have not yet been able to come to an agreement regarding his departure.
"There is a problem between Blackburn and the player," said Houston.
"We have agreed a deal with them but he still has some problems that him and Blackburn have got to sort out.
"Gavin's happy with the deal, desperate to come to Dundee United, but he's due some money and I think Blackburn want to let him go for nothing.
"He's due a considerable sum but he's willing to take quite a lot less. So it's a problem between Gavin and Blackburn which he has to resolve.
"I know that the lad and Stevie Kean are meeting and hopefully something comes out of that because he's desperate to get a train up the road and join United because he wants to get in this team."
