Rangers have had a bid of £1million for David Goodwillie rejected by Dundee United.

The Scottish champions are keen on the 22-year old striker but have been told by United that they will have to increase their offer if they want to be successful in their pursuits.

"We can confirm we have received a bid from Rangers for David Goodwillie," said a United spokesperson.

"The bid has been rejected because it does not meet our valuation."
