Dundee United will fine striker David Goodwillie following his role in an alleged nightclub incident over the weekend. The 20-year-old was arrested following a brawl in a club in Bridge of Allan hours previously.

Goodwillie has been charged by the police for an assault on rugby player Craig Reid and now faces a court date.

"He has broken the club's internal disciplinary code and will be punished accordingly," boss Craig Levein said.

"The other stuff with regard to what's happening with the police will take care of itself. I'd just add that I'm extremely disappointed in him. He will be in the squad against Ross County but he won't play."
