Dundee United boss Craig Levein has decided not to appeal against Danny Swanson's sending-off at St Johnstone. Levein revealed referee Dougie McDonald had informed him after the game that a clampdown on such tackles had been ordered by the Scottish Football Association. And the Tannadice chief has now had that confirmed from Hugh Dallas, the SFA's head of referees development.
"I have spoken to Hugh Dallas and he said that, under the directive the referees were given, Danny's tackle merited a red card," Levein told The Courier.
"This season a challenge like that will result in a sending-off. As long as that is the case for everyone, we can accept that, so we won't be appealing."
