Dundee United's Russell confirms broken leg

Dundee United striker Johnny Russell has confirmed that he has sustained a broken leg.

The 22-year old was injured during last week's 0-0 draw with Inverness with X-rays showing a fracture.

"Absolutely gutted. Got an X-ray this morning and I have fractured my fibula," he posted on Twitter on Monday evening.

Russell is now expected to be sidelined for around six weeks which will force him out of the Scottish Cup semi-final with Celtic in mid-April.
