Dundee United are looking to chase money owed to them by Blackburn Rovers following the summer sale of strike David Goodwillie.
Rovers agreed a fee of around £2.8million with United for Goodwillie in August with the total sum to be paid in installments.
It has emerged that Blackburn are 10 days late in paying around £250,000 with a similar fee to be paid again on March 1 and the Tangerines want their money.
United will contact the English Football Association regarding the payments as it appears that Blackburn's previously reported financial issues may be coming to light.
