Dundee striker MacDonald emerges as MLS, Doncaster target

Dundee striker Peter MacDonald has emerged on the radar of some clubs in the USA according to his agent.

The 33-year old former St Johnstone and Greenock Morton forward comes out of contract with the Scottish championship club this summer and is believed to be pondering a move away from Dens Park.

Agent Tony Ashgar has revealed that MLS clubs, as well as English outfit Doncaster Rovers, are showing interested in MacDonald who has scored 12 league goals in 21 outings for the Dees this season.

"He is free in the summer and it is expected Dundee will make an offer," Ashgar told Sky Sports.

"I am working closely with agent Jonathan Hope who has two interested parties in the MLS so we will explore these options."

Hope added: "Yes I am working closely with Tony and recently finished a scouting mission in the USA.

"Peter is an attractive striker and I'm now hearing a meeting with Doncaster is to be set up.

"When you score goals you create attention and Peter has done this."
