Duncan Watmore is being promoted to the Sunderland first team for preseason.
The former Manchester United junior spent time with Hibs on-loan last term.
Watmore has clearly caught manager Gus Poyet's eye and this week the 20-year-old has been training alongside the first-team at the Academy of Light, says the Evening Chronicle.
He is likely to stay with the first-team squad for the majority of the pre-season preparations, and could be included on the club's trip to Portugal at the end of the month.
