Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has been left without a shirt number for the new season.

The Daily Mail says Zouma has been left without a Chelsea squad number after new signing Jorginho was given the No 5 shirt.

The move to hand Jorginho the jersey has raised doubt over Zouma's role in new manager Maurizio Sarri's plans.

The France defender is back with the Blues following a season-long loan spell with Stoke last term.

The 23-year-old centre back wants to be playing regularly but it is unclear whether Zouma has a future at the club under their new Italian boss.
