Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew will hand local lad Paul Dummett a start tonight against Capital One Cup opponents Leeds United.
The left-back admits he is still pinching himself after working his way into the Newcastle first team squad.
A call-up from Wales, time with Gareth Bale, a place on the Newcastle bench, and a run-out at Manchester City have all come the 21-year-old's way in the last month alone.
And Dummett said: "I didn't expect this, the plan was to go out on loan. I didn't expect to be playing against Manchester City in the first game or to be involved in every Premier League game so far, which I have done. It's been a bonus for me and it's all down to hard work, really."
