Former Barcelona striker Christophe Dugarry has encouraged Ousmane Dembele to move to the Nou Camp.
The France striker is a target for Barca, which have already made an opening offer to his club, Borussia Dortmund, this week.
Dugarry told RMC: "You should not take any risks. A player needs time to play. Extending the adventure with Dortmund a year more before the World Cup and leaving him more serene, it would a good for him.
"But I'm fairly divided. In his progression, this season in Dortmund made him pass an intermediate stage after Rennes. Barça comes out of a catastrophic season. There is something to be done. The club needs new blood. He will have a real card to play.
"Arriving in a functioning Barça, I would have said it was a very bad choice. But in this Barça that needs to renew itself, why not?"
