World Cup winner Christophe Dugarry insists Memphis Depay's problems at Lyon shouldn't be a surprise.
Dugarry has branded the former Manchester United winger's form as "catastrophic" after he was dumped to the stands for the weekend's draw with Dijon.
He told RMC: "On his contribution in matches, he was catastrophic. (Jose) Mourinho tried a little, he was catastrophic.
"If you think that a player who has failed in Manchester can easily succeed in Ligue 1, you are wrong. Especially when you see the form and the deficiencies that he had in Manchester.
"Why did not he play in Manchester? Because he had deficiencies that even in Ligue 1 or in Belgium will not be excused."
