French World Cup winner Christophe Dugarry has slammed Dimitri Payet over his bust-up with West Ham.
Payet has refused to play for the Hammers as he seeks a return to Marseille.
And Dugarry is unimpressed, telling RMC: "I am shocked because all the declarations of love he made for a year and a half to West Ham...
"He did the job, he hoisted the club to the top of the Premier League. But I believe that when we have so much support, a contract until June 2020, a comfortable salary of €8-10m a year, I am shocked that he says that he does not want to play anymore.
"I want to tell him 'Dimitri, check yourself'. I think there is a deal to be found in gentlemen. Do not get your feet dirty in a club that gave you everything. This is not the first time he has done it. When he wants to leave, he often leaves with the iron arm. I understand that the situation of West Ham does not please him, they are struggling. They risk going down without him, for sure. If he saves them, he can become a hero.
"I advise Payet to resume and find a common ground."
